I have a fault which is proving hard to diagnose. My bike starts and runs fine, but about 5 times now it has started running on two cylinders after travelling some 10-15 miles.
A heat sensor gun reveals that it is always the right cylinder that plays up.
If, after the problem appears, I park up for a coffee and attempt to restart after 30 minutes or so, it will run fine again.
If, after the problem appears, I ride very slowly running on two cylinders the RHS cylinder kicks back in after about 5 miles.
The problem appears to manifest itself sooner if I am riding at a higher speed.
All cylinders have good compression, the bike is running electronic ignition, and has new spark-plugs, caps and leads.
Suspecting an overheating coil, I replaced the RH coil but this did not cure the problem.
I know that I can try progressively swapping ignition parts out and then ride 15 miles to see whether that has fixed it, but is there some simple explanation that I'm overlooking?
