I recently had my bike in the shop to get some work done(just dont have the time do to it all myself like i use to)
It had been a bear to get started.New battery helped but still somewhat a chore.
The mechanic said the compression is a bit low when the bike it dead cold and thinks it will need rings .My question is, what am i looking at just to toss in some rings? It runs fine when warmed up.
Bike has about 30k miles on it .I want to keep it running, but not willing to pay for a full rebuild of the engine. Is it possible to just put rings in or stupid to tear it down that far without replacing other items?

Thanks in advance!
