Its been around 7 months since my 850G has run. Back then the bike was running fine but the starter motor was really struggling so I found a brush kit and had it overhauled. Once back together it wouldn't start. It seemed there wasn't enough power left in the battery to cope with demand. Even kick start assist didn't help. I bought a new charger as mine had died but all that happened after a few attempts was the solenoid died. The wife and I were booked to volunteer in Africa for three months so I gave up, drained the tank and the carbs and took the battery out.
Today, five months later, after purchasing a Motobatt gel type battery with a higher cranking capacity it started much to my amazement.
Now to work out why it's idling at 4000rpm and why the lights don't work
The party continues!
