I was on the final stages of assembly, following starter-clutch and layshaft-bolt surgery, when I spied a small piece of brass lying in the bottom of the LHS crankcase cover. It has an internal thread and appears to be a deeply countersunk brass nut of about 8.5mm across the flats (perhaps 2BA?). Is it an alien incursion, or can anyone suggest where it may have come from?
