A few of us really enjoyed the 2018 Vintage Yamaha Rally in North Carolina. For me, it's the highlight of my year.

So far, there isn't yet an overall flyer describing the 2019 rally, but everything is posted on:

https://www.vintageyamaharally.com/

There is a flyer about reserving a room or campsite (better resolution version can be found on the website):

I'll second that Mike. The Yamaha Triples group that used to meet in Shenandoah kinda petered out. This rally really makes up for it. Lots of good people, good rides, and good accommodations. I've got my room reserved and I'm putting new tires and brakes on this winter. I'll be ready.

Tom:

I have taken most of my Yamahas to the rally, one-by-one, and the Triple has been my favorite because it handles so well- so I took the same Triple 2 years in a row.

I'm leading up to a confession. I acquired a 1986 VMAX a few weeks ago. It's in unusually nice condition, and I am currently thinking I might bring it for 2019. It's the first bike I've bought since 1980 that did not take a year to get back on the road.

Whatever old Yamaha we bring, it will fit in just fine!

Mike,
Great looking ride. Definitely bring it to the Iron Horse next year. Too bad the weather is not cooperating. Did you get in much saddle time before things got cold and sloppy? Zukey Lake will have to wait until late April from the looks of it.

David:

I only got to ride the VMAX twice before winter took hold. At least I got a sip, so I can dream all winter.

This winter's project is to transplant the Honda V65 parts from the bent frame to parts bike frame. I discovered the bent frame as I finished a long project rebuilding it. Since I was almost finished, I decided to complete it and ride it this summer to find any other big problems that should be fixed while it was apart again. I rode it 1000 miles this summer. Fortunately, the transmission doesn't slip and everything is working well.

Oops! My VMAX is 1986.

Better fix my signature right away!

Don't know how I made that mistake.
